publications o f held statistical congresses, conferences and meetings, about the plans o f statistical activities, and also about periodic statistical publications o f the USSR and soviet republics (about the journals, reports and newspapers) are assembled. The particular statistical bibliography o f works devoted to countries members of M A C , is represented in the third section o f the second part o f w o r k , and to statistical publications o f Russian Federation the whole fourth and fifth sections are assigned. The finishing section o f this part (the sixth section) contains the bibliographic index o f publications o f Interstate Statistical Committee o f CIS and other organizations o f countries o f CIS. The third part o f issuing, supplementing on subjects the first two parts, contained the bibliography, scientific-additional material on the chosen theme, not overloading the first two parts and not infringing the logic o f the chosen plan o f issuing o f w o r k . I t is constructed as reference materials on history o f statistical publications representing peculiar help for study o f history o f statistics. This part o f the work, constructed mainly as a survey exposition o f the material includes also eight independent sections. The chronology o f statistical events from ancient times and chronology of statistical bodies o f Russia are represented in the first two sections o f this part, and the list o f the basic documents and forms of keeping o f statistical records—in the following two sections (the third and the fourth sections). The fifth section is devoted to the bibliography o f the statistical bibliographies which is the basis, peculiar fundament o f the historical publications. I n the sixth section the history o f statistical publications o f the U S A is located, that allows the reader to make comparative analysis o f similar domestic publications with these publications. I n the seventh section not developed until now theme is affected and represented: not close statistical publications o f CSB (Goskomstat) USSR. The fourth part o f work contains the results o f bibliographic researches, conducted by the authors: the reference bibliography o f the authors o f major statistical works, and bibliographic index o f works, inhering to the authors o f the Encyclopedia are represented. Therefore, the materials, represented in the work, maximally supplement one another, reflecting scientific-logical substantiation o f the statistical publications, definition o f regularities of their evolution and their chronological completeness, and add it thus as a matter o f fact encyclopedic character, though by the form o f an exposition o f material it is not a traditional encyclopedia . H o w statistical publications are presented in the book? Each o f them, independently o f the fact i f i t is an independent publication or one o f the works from a series, in the index is described separately. I n cases, when by the title it is impossible to make correct submission about structure and contents o f w o r k , the note is given. For the description the data o f a title page were used, and i f it is not present— the information which was available on a cover or in output data.
